A Walk To | Golden Pavilion Kinkakuji, Kyoto

We took longer time than we had expected in Fushimi Inari (due to trail was closed for Michelle Obama visit, find perfect time to take picture while no other tourists passing by, and our slow walking pace while trekking the trails haha), sooo.. we thought that we couldn't make it to find Geisha in Gion which actually located near our hostel. People said that before sunset is the perfect time to meet Geisha. Thus, we decided to visit Kinkakuji - and it's the right option!

Nothing much to say about this Zen temple. It's so pretty and calming! Though we ran from station to the entrance garden (we're afraid because the place is closed at 5pm, it's seconds to 5pm at that time), worth all the sweat! haha

lemme buy a drink after running
the neighborhood around Kinkakuji

waiting the bus with a happy feeling haha

How to get there:
Take a Kyoto City Bus number 101 or 205 (about 40 minutes and for 230 yen) directly from Kyoto Station. Or take Karasuma Subway Line to Kitaoji Station (15 minutes, 260 yen) and take a taxi (10 minutes, 1000-1200 yen) or bus (10 minutes, 230 yen, bus numbers 101, 102, 204 or 205) from there to Kinkakuji. I took train from Fushimi Inari and then took a bus.

Fees: 400 Yen
Hours: 9:00 to 17:00
